Between impressionism and futurism, Diana Lara has developed a jewellery that reflects her: sunny, joyful and unique. Diana is inspired by nature, blends it with architecture and adds a few touches of her Mexican origins.

After graduating in Industrial Design, Diana worked as a designer of luxury furniture in Mexico, her native country. Not losing sight of her aspiration, she continued her studies in Italy to specialize in the design of jewellery and fashion accessories at the Polytechnic of Milan. She finished in beauty with a specialisation in goldsmithing at the Scuola Orafa Ambrosiana di Milano.

After spending many years working all over the world for several renowned fashion houses, Diana moved to Paris and now puts her talent at the service of Nascendi. Inspired by nature and blending it with architecture, her style is "on the bridge between
impressionism and futurism".

• WHAT ARE YOUR GREATEST SOURCES OF INSPIRATION?

Nature in all its forms, art and architecture.

• WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE STONE AND WHAT DREAM JEWEL WOULD YOU IMAGINE WITH IT?

I am particularly fond of sapphire. I would like to make a necklace in which, by playing with the colours of the sapphire, I could represent nature in its simplest forms.

Inspired by impressionism and futurism, I mix these two artistic movements in my work to create my own style.

• IN WHICH CITY DO YOU ALWAYS FEEL AT HOME AND WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE PLACES?

Milan, which I call my second home,
my memories are always along the Naviglio Grande canal. The nearby villages around Lake Como and Lake Garda are also places that inspire me a lot.

• WHAT IS YOUR BEDSIDE BOOK, THE ONE THAT SERVES AS A GUIDE OR THAT YOU CAN READ OVER AND OVER AGAIN?

There are two that I can read
endlessly: Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and Fred Vargas' What Will Die salutes you.

• A HABIT THAT HELPS YOU STIMULATE YOUR CREATIVITY?

Listening to music. Each of my creations has been accompanied by a particular musical genre or song: from instrumental, classical to indie or alternative music. It inspires me and the personality of my creations is impregnated with these rhythms.
